MCL-Collection software is downloadable over the internet.

If you have not yet purchased MCL software but would like to try our core products in demo mode, you are invited to download, install and run any component you would like — no registration required, no obligation to purchase!

You are also welcome to use our products in demo mode to get started on a project while you are waiting for an order of hardware devices and MCL software to be delivered to you by one of our Technology Partners or Distributors.

If you have been running some software in demo mode, the software will automatically switch from demo mode into full featured mode when you purchase it and activate the license you receive.

The brand of MCL software you use during your evaluation of our products is not important. However, the brand of software you download and install does ultimately need to match the brand of the software license you buy.

If you have purchased your MCL-Collection software but someone else ordered it for you and, as a result, you do not know which brand you have bought, refer to the License Certificate you received with your purchase. Use the information described in Ordering Hints, License Certificates to determine which brand of software license you have. Then, download and install the software having the same brand.

Maybe you have already downloaded and installed MCL-Collection software for evaluation or to get a jump start on a project. Now you have just received your License Certificate for your software purchase. If the brand of the software you have installed does not match the brand of your license, do not worry. The software will detect the mismatch and give you an activation error (typically ‘Error 050’) when you try to activate the license. Simply remove the current software installation, and download and install the brand of software that matches the one indicated on your License Certificate.

MCL Technologies has MCL branded versions of software for all of the manufacturers we support. However, we do not have OEM branded versions of software for all of them. As a result, we have only MCL branded software for some manufacturers, such as:

• LXE

To use MCL-Designer, download and install two components:

• MCL-Designer Engine

• MCL-Designer Device Plug-ins (DDPs) for your targeted devices

You may download one, some or all DDPs.

Demo Applications are included with your download.

The brand matching requirement described above does not apply to MCL-Designer Engine. The MCL-Designer Engine is brand independent. You will find a link to download MCL-Designer Engine under every brand available in the download product selection. However, in fact, they all link to the exact same software package.

Download and install the MCL-Designer Engine just once and activate any/all of your MCL-Designer licenses on it. You can work on a project for one manufacturer’s device and open it for another manufacturer’s device at any time — in demo mode or after activating an MCL-Designer license.

However, the brand of DDPs you install does need to match the brand of the MCL-Designer you purchase. If you have a license for:

• OEM branded MCL-Designer, be sure to download the same OEM branded DDP(s)

• MCL branded MCL-Designer, be sure to download MCL branded DDPs

Download MCL-Loader. The MCL-Code Interpreter runtime software for most of the V2 supported devices is bundled into MCL-Loader.

Download and install MCL-Designer V2 just once to create applications for all V2 supported devices. No MCL-Designer V2 add-ons or plug-ins are required to support the various devices.

Note: The V2 software available for download is at software version 2.6. In other words, the downloads include MCL-Designer V2.6, MCL-Link V2.6, MCL-NetS24 V2.6 and so on.
